Yoshihisa Kinameri was an editor, former president of Magazine House publishing company, and creator of POPEYE magazine.

Yoshihisa Kinameri, a Tokyo native, joined Heibon Shuppan (now Magazine House) in 1955, a year after its foundation. He served as editor-in-chief of Weekly Heibon, Heibon Punch, and an-an and launched POPEYE in 1976 and BRUTUS in 1980. He served as president of Magazine House from 1988 and as chairman from 1996 to 1998.

Yoshihisa Kinameri passed away on January 13, 2023, at the age of 93
